| Wednesday | The Eldon Arms | |
| Weekly 9pm | 19 Eldon Terrace, Reading, RG1 4DX Google Map | |
| Reading | The quiz is set and hosted by the winner of the previous week's quiz, rather like the Eurovision Song Contest. Hence, the format is entirely freeform and can sometimes be rather creative. It costs £1 per person to enter and all the money goes to the winning team. There is no restriction on team size but, clearly, the larger the team, the smaller the share of the winnings. Oh, and make sure you have time to set the next quiz if you win! (The pub is a good, old-fashioned family run pub in a quiet, residential backstreet, with a good range of Wadworth beers.) | |

| Sunday | The Lyndhurst Ale House | |
| Weekly 8pm | 88 Queens Road, Reading, RG1 4DG Google Map | |
| Reading | The quiz is hosted very entertainingly by Helen and follows the same format each week: (1) - a table round consisting of 10 pictures to identify. (2) - 4 rounds of 10 questions, the first of which is general knowledge and the other three some combination of music, sport, geography, history, literature etc, with the occasional cryptic topic thrown in. (3) - 10 questions on recent events, the last of which is always about that week's Eastenders! (4) - Intros round. The top three teams win chocolates, lager or wine. Maximum team size is six.
After the main quiz, there is the 'one to win'; having bought a raffle ticket earlier in the evening, you hope that your ticket is called, meaning you get to go up to the bar, be asked a very difficult question, the answer to which you guess incorrectly when the Countdown music finishes, and then you go and sit down again to rapturous applause. The prize for a correct answer is the pot generated by ticket sales up to £500. If your ticket is not called, you enjoy the tradition of shouting "FIX!" at whoever goes up. | |
